School district prepares for severe storms

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - In the case of inclement weather, school districts have plans in place to test the roads.

Deb Roush with the Pulaski County School District said they have a partnership with the National Weather Service, so they're treated a lot like the airport.

That means they are in constant communication.

Deb said there's a lot that goes into a calling off school for a snow day. Very specific details, even the temperature of the ground, can factor into the decision.

Several organizations are also bracing themselves for the wintry weather.

This weekend, the Jingle Bell Run, the Little Rock Holiday Parade, and several high school football games are hoping for the best.

THV 11 will have team coverage throughout the week to keep you up-to-date with the very latest weather conditions and closings.
