JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. (JCSO) - On Saturday, March 22, 2014 the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Tri-County Drug Task Force, and South Central Arkansas Law Enforcement Society (S.C.A.L.E.S.) Gun Club will host a public auction, where in accordance with Arkansas Code Annotated A.C.A. §13-4-408 and A.C.A. §13-4-409 Disposition of Property and Evidence, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Tri-County Drug Task Force in conjunction with the South Central Arkansas Law Enforcement Society Gun Club proposes to offer the below listed items for sale at a PUBLIC AUCTION to the highest bidder(s) pursuant to District/Circuit Orders.

Greater Little Rock Senior Giving Tree program to begin

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Home Instead Senior Care) - This season, holiday shoppers in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Jacksonville, Cabot and Searcy can give cheer to area seniors by participating in the Be a Santa to a Senior  program.

The program – run by the local Home Instead Senior Care office in partnership with area retailers, volunteers and members of the community – helps ensure isolated seniors receive gifts and companionship during the holidays. This can be a difficult time for many, especially those who live alone or have lost spouses and loved ones.

An estimated 27 percent of people 65 and older (10.8 million people) are widowed, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Further, the Administration on Aging reports about 28 percent (11.8 million) non-institutionalized people 65 and older live alone.

North Little Rock High School Senior Art Show at Thea

The North Little Rock High School Art Show and Sale will be on display in the Thea Center from April 19 to 26.  An opening reception and sale will take place on Monday, April 22, from 5:30 to 7:30pm.  Free and open to the public.  This is a rare and affordable opportunity to purchase local students‘ artwork.

Artists from across Arkansas will display and sell their works from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, April 27, along Main Street in the Argenta Arts District of downtown North Little Rock at the second annual Thea Arts Festival. While the Festival itself is open and free to the public, money raised through sponsorship of the festival will help support the arts in schools across Arkansas.
