Little Rock accident kills 1, injures 1 | News
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident that kills one man, injures another Friday night.
Friday night around 6:30 p.m. deputies got a call about a single vehicle accident with entrapment at 145th Street and Panatela Parkway.
When deputies got there they saw a Chevy Camaro with massive damage to the rear of the car and the car itself was wrapped around a large pine tree.
The driver, Joshua McKenzie was unresponsive and slumped over the steering wheel and his passenger's face was bleeding. Also inside the car was a Boxer dog with several cuts.
Deputies say neither McKenzie nor his passenger were wearing seat belts and no airbags deployed.
McKenzie was pronounced dead at the scene and his passenger was taken to a local hospital.
Deputies also saw a broken chain hook attached to the front right side wheel. In the accident report, deputies say it appeared as if the hook was used in an attempt to pull the vehicle out of the ditch, but no one was there when deputies arrived.
A friend of McKenzie's came and got the dog.
Deputies say the car was traveling westbound on 145th Street at a high rate of speed when it hydroplaned and drove off the roadway and the rear-end of the car hit a pine tree.
