Thanks in part to a 4-1 mark over the past week of play, UALR sports a Sun Belt-best 12-4 overall record and is off to the second-best start in school history ... The Trojans' 12 wins tie three previous clubs (2002, 1996 and 1977) for the second-most victories through the first 16 games of a season, and trail only the 1990 club (13-3) for the best start in program history ... The Trojans' 5-10 loss in 10 innings to Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Sunday snapped the team's seven-game win streak, as well as the team's seven-game streak of scoring 10 or more runs ... UALR plated 61 runs in five games last week, upping its season total to an incredible 158 -- good enough for tops in the Sun Belt Conference and second in the nation ... The UALR bats have been on fire of late, and enter the week ranked in the top five nationally of several offensive categories ... In addition to runs scored, the Trojans are second in the nation in scoring (9.9 runs per game), second in slugging (.549), third in doubles (44), fourth in hits (192) and fourth in home runs (23).

IN A LEAGUE OF HIS OWN
Senior Sean Bignall currently leads the nation in four major offensive categories: home runs (9), RBI (33), slugging percentage (1.016) and total bases (64) ... Bignall was awarded with his second-straight SBC Player of the Week award on Monday, becoming the first player since Bryce Brentz of Middle Tennessee in 2009 to win the award in back-to-back weeks ... Bignall put together one of the top offensive performances in UALR history in the Trojans' 20-8 defeat of South Dakota State on Wednesday (3/7) going 4-for-5 with three home runs, a double, six RBI and four runs scored ... Bignall also set a new school record for total bases in a single game (14), while his three homers tied the UALR single-game mark ... Bignall currently leads or is tied for the conference lead in hits, RBI, doubles, homers, total bases and slugging percentage, and ranks in the top-five in runs, batting average and OBP.

PAIR OF ACES
UALR got a pair of quality pitching performances out of juniors Chance Cleveland and Blake Huffman in their series against UWM last weekend ...
