News

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Every year the Salvation Army distributes Christmas presents to children and senior citizens through the Angel Tree program. Starting Monday, October 3, families with children ages newborn to 12 can begin registering for assistance.

Applicants need to bring the following document with them in order to apply:
• A current Picture ID
• Social Security Card for every member in the household (W-7 for immigrants)
• Proof of address such as a lease or utility bill
• Birth certificate for all children
• Proof of income/expenses
• If you have unemployment or food stamp verification (letter)
Once the child has been accepted, their name will go on an Angel Tree at Park Plaza Mall, McCain Mall and your local Wal-Mart. Shoppers will then have the opportunity to brighten a child's holiday by purchasing a gift for them starting in November.

The Salvation Army distributes the gifts to the families and provides food as well.
