LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) – Construction work will require nightly lane closures and detours at the Interstate 430/630 “Big Rock” Interchange in Little Rock, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews will be removing safety platforms and painting steel beams on the new bridge over Shackleford Road. The following routes will be affected.

-- Shackleford Road northbound traffic will be detoured to I-630 east and through the cloverleaf ramps back to I-630 west and Shackleford Road north.

· Northbound traffic wanting to go east on I-630 can proceed as normal.

-- Shackleford Road southbound traffic to eastbound I-630 will be detoured to westbound Financial Center Parkway to Hermitage Road and east to Shackleford Road and then North on Shackleford Road for access to I-630 East.  All other southbound traffic will be reduced to 1 lane and also detoured to westbound Financial Centre Parkway and back to Shackleford Road using Hermitage Road.

The lane closures and detours will occur nightly. They will begin Tuesday night, September 2nd at 9:00 p.m. and continue until Friday morning, September 5th at 5:00 a.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using barrels, barricades, detour signs, message boards, and warning signs.
