Toughman contest returns to Little Rock | News
LITTLE ROCK, AR (KTHV) - After a quarter century, the Budweiser, Great American Lager Original Toughman Contest continues to lead the fight industry as the only boxing event where the outcome can never be predicted.
The Original Toughman Contest will be held at the Statehouse Convention Center Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16th at 8pm.
The Toughman Contest is a semi-professional pugilistic version of boxing
that demands both big boxing gloves and the shortest rounds.
Advance tickets are as low as $15 and are on sale now. You can purchase tickets at all three Bumper to Bumper locations in Little Rock and North Little Rock. Tickets will be $20 at the door the day of the fights. The box office opens at the Statehouse Convention at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
More than 40 local fighters are expected to compete for the top "Toughman" title. Several women are expected to fight as well. If interested, there's still time to sign up to compete. Interested fighters can call (989) 450-6099 or enter online at www.toughmancontest.net. Competitors must be at least 18 and pass an on-site physical.
There will be cash prizes, totaling more than $3,000 in cash, at the conclusion of the fights.
THV 11's Craig O'Neill sits down with Casey Green who decided to compete
in the "Toughman Contest" after attending last year's event.
