LR store clerk recalls knife hold up | News
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A Little Rock store clerk breathed easier knowing the alleged robbery suspect who targeted his store is in custody. The clerk, Jong Park, went face to face with the suspect on Saturday.
"He run to the counter, and he used the knife," Park said.
With a kitchen knife stuck in his face Park knew his life mattered more than the little money in his register.
"Give me the money, open the register. I said 'Okay, don't kill me,'" Park recalled.
Saturday around 5:30 a.m., the robber came into the Shell on South University, took the money and ran.
According to a Little Rock police report, a suspect with a similar description targeted Mapco Express off of I-30 in South Little Rock and held up the clerk with a knife as well.
Four Robberies happened in all on Saturday.
The first came around 5 a.m. at W. 56th Street Mapco. The next crime happened at the Parks' Family Shell Station on South University Avenue just before 6 a.m. Then after 12:30 p.m. another robbery took place just down the road at Big Red. This time, the suspect used a knife and a gun. The last hold up happened around 8:30 p.m. at the Superstop on Colonel Glenn, also with a knife.
Park said he won't fight violence with violence.
"Give the money. Don't use a gun, no knife, that's it," said Park.
According to reports from Little Rock Police, there were no injuries during any of the robberies.
