Wilbur D. Mills Graduate Running With the Hogs

Wilbur D. Mills Graduate Running With the Hogs

Anthony Blakely is a decorated graduate and athlete from PCSSD's Wilbur D. Mills University Studies High School. During Blakely's high school days at Mills, he was an outstanding cheerleader, a percussionist in the band, an ROTC drill team member and track star. He showed promise in all of these extra curricular activities, however, some special talents were discovered in the summer of 2008 while he was a member of the Team Elite AAU track team. Blakely, a sprinter, showed versatility when he ran on the 800 meter relay team that competed in the AAU National Junior Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa at Drake University. His potential was noticed, very much like the famous Usain Bolt, who began running the 800 meters before devoting his time to sprints.
