LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV)THV 11 and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette co-sponsored the Senior Expo at the Statehouse Convention Center Saturday.

Alyse Eady and Craig O'Neill helped emcee and Ed Buckner also spoke. In addition, health screenings, technology seminars, and more were offered to expo goers for a fun and informative day. The expo also featured booths for families and caregivers.

"There's a tsunami of seniors, and it's actually kind of good to have them come out and get the screenings done and check things out for what is available to them in the community," said Dr. Priya Mendiratta, associate professor of geriatrics at UAMS.

Experts said the geriatric population is growing worldwide, with many members of the baby-boomer generation aging into the group each day.
