Veterans at Fort Roots to receive 125 care packages from UAMS employees

UAMS employees will deliver care packages to veterans being cared for in the Veterans Administration hospital at Fort Roots as part of an ongoing celebration of military veterans Nov. 10 at 10:30 a.m.

UAMS collected the items in honor of the 280 fellow employees who have served or currently serve in the military.

About 125 packages were assembled, each containing toiletries, a pair of underwear, t-shirt, candy, and an entertaiment item such as a book.

Each patient will recieve a "Thank You" card signed by UAMS employees, thanking them for their service and a poster colored by a 3- or 4-year-old enrolled in Woodruff Early Childhood Center.

The packages will be delivered at Building 170 room GH124 at 220 Fort Roots Drive at the Eugene Towbin Veterans Affairs Hospital at Fort Roots in North Little Rock.

13TH Annual ATA 101A/B Regional Tournament

The Regional ATA Championship Tournament will be held at University of Arkansas in Little Rock, Donaghey Student Center Gymnasium. Door will open at 7:00 am. Opening Ceremony will start at 10:00 am.

Very Special Guest will be Chief Master H. U. Lee and Honored Guest Mrs. Sun Lee.

Public involvement meeting to discuss transit system

The public is being asked to get involved in a discussion at the Jeffrey Hawkins Conference Room at the Pulaski County Regional Center (501 W. Markham Street) to present and discuss the study for identification and preservation of an alignment for the future deployment of a fixed guideway transit system along the I-630 corridor.
