"With many of our speakers traveling in from out of town and the conditions worsening, we feel it is the responsible decision to not ask people to place themselves in any further danger," said NWA partner Kate Kressen in a statement. "We thank all of you for taking an interest in our very important cause and are unsure if a reschedule date is available.  We would love to set up meetings with all of you to further discuss our mission and the opportunities available for support."

LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Ark. -- Team Little Rock deployers will receive "rock star" treatment during a Welcome Home Warriors homecoming event Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. at Hangar 1080 on base.

Deployers will receive a true hero’s welcome as they walk down a red carpet flanked by well wishers waving American flags. The event is designed to recognize individual deployers who returned home through commercial airports between Nov. 5, 2010, up to now, said 1st Lt. Michael McKenna, Welcome Home Warriors project officer.

"These people came home from a six-month, eight-month or year-long deployment and didn't get the same welcome as the big groups [of deployers]," said Lieutenant McKenna. "This is [the base community’s] chance to show them how much we appreciate all they have done."

The party atmosphere features fun food like hot dogs and chili, non-alcoholic beverages, music and door prizes.
