Designing Women of Little Rock Fundraiser | Events
Compassion Fashion Events is hosting a beautiful fundraiser for the 501(c)3 non-profit, Women & Children First, which is the largest women's shelter in the state of Arkansas. The event is dubbed Designing Women of Little Rock and will prove to have a little something for everyone's interests.
The festivities take place on October 25, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at Arkansas' premier event venue, the Villa Marre (1321 Scott Street, Little Rock), which is more widely known as the famous house shown during episodes of the classic 80's hit television series, Designing Women. Inspired by the nostalgia and history of the home, Compassion Fashion Design and Events have planned a fashion show featuring local Fashion Designers, Missy Lipps, N'Chole Feroce, Snee Dismang, and Chavon Shree. Taking it 'old school' fashion show style, each designer will emcee their line in a very high level way explaining every garment coming down the runway.
Park Lane Jewelry Vice President of the Little Rock territory, Valerie Newton, is first on the roster at 6:30 and will be raffling off free jewelry by Park Lane, so guest are encouraged to get to the Villa Marre on time.
With glamour covered, the event sought local artists to add a swanky flavor with one room dedicated to an art silent auction organized by Owner of The Art School, Jo Claire Dodson, whom will also be speaking that evening. And speaking of flavor, Catering Creations will be serving spinach and artichoke dip with seasoned and cooked pitas, lemon herb chicken skewers, and an assorted fruit tray. Wine will also be served.
As if that is not enough, Compassion Fashion partnered with Fred Astaire Dance Studio and the Jessica Carder Band. Along with live music equipped with a dance floor, the Fred Astaire staff will be dancing and encouraging guests to join in to cut a rug.
Designing Women of Little Rock is free admission to the public. A percentage of the proceeds from sales that evening will be directly donated to Women and Children First. There will also be a booth set up for Women and Children First for tax-deductible donations in any amount as well. Other booths will include Arkansas Fashion School and This Shop Rocks.
Join in the fun for a night of dancing, fashion, food, fun conversation, guest speakers, live music, art, and fundraising for a good cause. Photography for this event provided by Bobby Haws Photography.
