Copper theft forces kids to stay home from youth center

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Kids at one Little Rock school were forced to stay home on Monday because of an overnight burglary.

'In His Image Youth Development Center' said a $150,000 copper theft from their air conditioning units caused them to turn away nearly 170 students this morning.

Officials there say they want whoever did this to look at the bigger picture.

This is the second copper theft to happen at the youth development center. Officials say they are working to beef up security and to get new AC units.

They are currently accepting donated portable AC units. If you would like to make a donation, the youth center is located at 5705 West 65th Street. The phone number is 501-562-3910.
