'Women and Children First' benefit | Community Spirit
An event to benefit the non-profit Women and Children First took place on November 10, 2011 called Your Girl Friend's Closet. The evening was designed as a Swap for Good party and also included a silent auction from various designers and fashion professionals. Held in the party room at Bar Louie on Cantrell Road in Little Rock, the evening rendered product and monetary donations. Sponsors for this benefit included fashion labels N'chole Feroce and Just Faux Fun as well as the jewelry label Novel Approach. Other silent auction pieces were sponsored by Valerie Newton with Park Lane.
PR Coordinator for Women and Children First, Meredith Looney, was in attendance to answer questions about the shelter and talk about volunteer opportunities. She also was there to transport all donations at the cessation of the event.
"In the last 30 days alone, 32 adults and 39 children have been sheltered there," says Dawn Scott, who sits on the Board of Directors for the shelter.
This event was hosted by the Compassion Fashion Project in conjuction with Today's THV. For more details on charitable event partnering inquires with CFP, please contact Meredith Corning, Company Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
