Cleverlys bring bluegrass hilarity, crazy covers to LR

Hailing from a remote part of the Ozark Mountains, near the small town of Cane Spur, Ark., The Cleverlys are a five-man bluegrass/comedy band with what some bluegrassjournal.com calls "a slightly skewed sense of the past, present and future."
You can say that again.

Rock star Corey Smith in LR this Sunday, April 17

With seven albums and dozens of sold-out shows now under his belt — including at famed venues such as The Roxy in Atlanta and Georgia Theatre in Athens — Corey Smith brings his popular, unpretentious Americana act with country, rock and blues influences to Revolution Music Room on Sunday, April 17.

Since winning a songwriting contest and releasing his first album, "Undertones," in 2003, Smith has been soaring underneath the radar of the major labels by nursing a loyal fan base all over the South who appreciates his back-to-basics honesty in both his music and his lyrics.

"Drawing heavily from the blues, country and rock traditions of the South, he applies the back-porch twang of an acoustic guitar, a soulful singing voice, and well-crafted lyrics to the task of creating music that is at once distinct and familiar," Jambase.com says.

His supporting band is not bad either; this guy and his friends know how to "Party" — incidentally, one of his most popular
