Special viewing of Susan Purvis Exhibit at Clinton Center

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Gibbs International Magnet School has scheduled a special viewing of the Susan Purvis Exhibit at the Clinton Presidential Center on Monday, August 24, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  

This special exhibit features hundreds of hand-crafted figures, created by Mrs. Purvis’ students, arranged in a display recreating President Clinton’s first Inaugural Parade in 1993. The exhibit is part of the Clinton Presidential Library’s archives.

The exhibit is located on the second floor of the Center near the Cabinet Room Exhibit.  The Susan Purvis Exhibit honors the legacy of a special art educator who taught at Gibbs Magnet School of International Studies and Foreign Languages for 28 years and influenced thousands of students, families, and teachers with her passion for learning and teaching.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Hot Springs Blues & BBQ Festival, presented by Budweiser, will be headlined by the Los Lonely Boys Saturday, Sept. 19 and Keb’ Mo’ Sunday, Sept. 20. The event, hosted jointly by Oaklawn and the Spa City Blues Society, will take place in Oaklawn’s infield, and will also feature some of the region’s best barbeque.

“We are very excited to bring the Los Lonely Boys and Keb’ Mo’ to Hot Springs,” said Rob Pratt, President of the Spa City Blues Society. “Partnering with Oaklawn has really allowed us to take this event to a whole new level.”

Artist INC Live Argenta is a ground-breaking program that will empower you to take control of your career and create opportunities you've only imagined. Limited to 25 participants, artists gather once a week for eight weeks to learn business
skills specific to their art practice and apply those skills cooperatively with their peers.

Make plans to enjoy a wonderful evening of jazz as Rodney Block and the Real Music Lovers will open the show. 

Please note all online tickets must be converted to real paper tickets at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center prior to the start of the performance.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to support the educational and outreach programs of Mosaic Templars Cultural Center.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark - Not even a nearly record-breaking hot day could prevent the excitement around the show and entertainment behind the outdoor event on the 4th block of Main Street in downtown Little Rock at the Big Night.

Little Rock’s very own native and TV news personality, Keristen Holmes, returned home to host Big Night, presenting returning designers and new designers as they showcased their clothing lines while models strutted in the designer’s collection on the runway at the seventh annual Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW).

Sheena Smith and Nicholas Colclough tied the knot this summer at the Little Rock Marriott in style.  The wedding, which donned a flower wall by Eminent Planning and Central Arkansas Entertainment created from 4000 flowers from Cabbage Rose Florist and a carpet of rose petals down the aisle, looked like something straight out of a fairytale.  And the couple's story is just as elaborate and beautiful as their wedding.

Pine Bluff couple celebrates 76 years of marriage

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTHV) -Mr. Cleovis, 94, and Mrs. Arwilda Whiteside, 89, will be celebrating their 76th wedding anniversary Friday, July 24. 

"If you put God first, you can make it through all kinds of problems," said Mrs. Arwilda Whiteside. 

The couple has 12 children, six girls and six boys. According to neighbors, they are a sweet older couple spreading the news of their anniversary as a way to spread hope. The pair wants to show the public that marriage is a blessing.
